I am a freshman motorsports student at Alfred State College and I love the great race because I have a passion for classic cars. Seeing all the cars and trucks that take part, and the work put into them puts a smile on my face. I always felt that people who restore cars and keep them on the road are not only fixing up cool cars but also restoring pieces of history. Cars have always been a part of my life and now I get to be a part of history in helping restore and drive one. After I'm done with college, I would like to continue my passion for restoration and modification with my own race shop. Racing on the track is the ultimate goal for me, whether it's a classic car, sports car, or GTP car. No matter what, if you see me in the future, it'll certainly be behind the wheel of a race car.
StudentStudentRegan Clancy
My name is Regan Clancy, I am studying heavy truck and diesel at Alfred state college, this will be my second year doing the great race and I am excited to work on many classic cars for anyone that just needs an extra hand fixing something so they can make it to the starting line the next morning. After this year I will have 2 auto degrees from Alfred state and will be ready to jump right into the field working on any vehicle. I hope to work for a fleet trucking company and restore cars and trucks in my free time at my shop and hopefully build a car that I can run in the great race in the future.
StudentAedan Kaake
Hi my name is Aedan Kaake I go to Alfred State college for Motorsports Technology. I’m currently in the Engines class and am working on the 1953 Dodge Power Wagon we are using in The Great Race this year along with helping a friend paint his Ford 302 Mustang motor. Soon I will be working on building a turbo 1.8 out of a Miata for a race team, and building my own Miata race car. I can't wait to be a part of The Great Race I have always enjoyed working on older cars since my first to daily drivers were a 1986 ford f150 I restored and a 1988 dodge d150 I built up and did a lot of work too. I also want to learn more about this TSD style of racing because I really like the idea of taking a car on a long road trip and fixing it up on the way. After I graduate from this program, I plan to get a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering while working for racing teams and getting myself into the industry.
Jackson Santay
Hello! My name is Jackson Santay, and I am a freshman student in the Alfred State Motorsport Technology program. I am very grateful to be chosen to participate in the great race this year with Alfred State. In class I have already been able to do some work on the 1953 power wagon we will be running, along with working on building a classmates 1994 Mustang and doing some work on my dad's 1960 chevy Biscayne. Having the opportunity to meet different people on this trip is very exciting for me. I am also excited to be able to take a road trip down route 66 and in a tow truck none the less. After graduating from Motorsports I would like to work on an IMSA racing team as a pit crew member or pursue an education in engineering.
StudentAlex Emanuel
My name is Alex Emanuel, and I am a senior in Automotive Technology at Alfred State. I am big into hands on learning and anything that gets me working with vehicles outside of just the classroom. I’m not from a motorsports background, but I recently got into rally racing on a simulator I built, and it sparked a real interest in the racing world. The Great Race is an incredible opportunity for me to be part of something bigger, travel across the country, and represent Alfred State while doing something I’m genuinely passionate about.
