X-Cup Legacy exists to empower the next generation of innovators through the student division of The Great Race. We connect high school, technical college, and university students with opportunities to build, restore, and drive vintage vehicles in a one-of-a-kind endurance rally. By funding scholarships, resources, and mentorship, we ensure that every student team has the chance to experience the thrill of precision driving, teamwork, and preserving automotive history.
What is the X-Cup?
The X-Cup Division is part of The Great Race — a legendary cross-country rally where antique and vintage cars are tested for precision, endurance, and teamwork. Unlike a high-speed race, The Great Race is about accuracy: teams follow precise course instructions across thousands of miles of public highways.
What vehicles qualify?
Antique & Vintage Cars, Trucks, and Motorcycles with body and drive train built in 1974 and earlier can qualify.
The X-Cup Division was created to give young people the chance to:
Work together to restore and maintain vintage vehicles.
Learn critical skills in mechanics, leadership, and navigation.
Compete for scholarships and recognition.
Keep the passion for the old car hobby alive for generations to come.
